Sarita Maria Woody
Sarita is always bouncing around the globe (Tulum, San Francisco, Oahu, Berlin, Alto Paraiso in Brazil) and even though we were penpals it took us years to finally meet on the island of Mykonos a few summers ago. I knew she was a free spirit--, sleeping under the stars, studying magic-- but was surprised when she invited me to meet her at the beach club Scorpios at sunset. She was up on stage , performing like a queen, singing and chanting in her ethereal voice. She’s also a poet and a bard and a cosmic-cool rapper but not the drippy, new age kind. Sarita is deeply spiritual-- she is the founder of The Ancient Future, an experience design concept that helps inspire joy and connection. And she is whip-smart and funny. I was so impressed that I asked her to help edit my book the Boho Manifesto which turned out to be the right call as Sarita added a sense of humor and intelligence on par with any seasoned New York City editor. These days, as travel is less easy, Sarita has been spending a lot of time in her hometown of Austin, Texas recording an album and dreaming up other ideas to take root in the beautiful world she is creating.
